FAQ
Operating Systems
Lumenaut only runs with Excel
and the Windows OS at the moment.
Installation
Full
install instruction are available here
and on the Readme.doc file that comes with
the download setup file.
I
receive an error message when I try to run
the setup program. What should I do?
First of all check that you
have successfully downloaded the file. You
can do this by checking the file size using
Explorer and comparing it with the size given
on the download page. If the file you have
is smaller then the download was incomplete.
When networks are crowded usually
during peak daytime periods, internet connectivity
can be poor and result in lost connections.
We recommend that you try to download either
through a less congested portal or at a less
busy time of day such as earlier in the morning
or later in the evening.
If you are on a wireless lan,
we recommend that you find a less crowded
wireless hub in another part of your building.
If your file is the correct
size then you may not have the Microsoft "Windows
Installer" application on your machine
or it has been corrupted.
For Windows NT and 2000, download
and install the following file
instmsiw.exe
For Windows 95, 98 and ME download
and install the following file
instmsia.exe
Windows XP has the Windows Installer
built-in to the fabric of the OS.

Running Lumenaut
The
Tools > Lumenaut menu item has either not
appear after installation or has now disappeared.
After the trial period has elapsed
and you have not registered your copy of Lumenaut
then the Lumenaut menu is disabled.
If your copy is within the trial
period or registered then :
Sometimes Excel will disable
an add-in, in Excel go to :
Help > About Microsoft Excel
Then Click on disabled items
button at the bottom of the screen that pops
up. Check to see if it has any “Lumenaut”
items then click on them and enable them.
Close Excel and then restart
Excel.
Message
"De-select cell contents or chart to
proceed" appears every time I try to
run Lumenaut
This can happen when one of
Lumenaut's add-ins is disabled. Go to Excel
> Tools > Add-ins... Check that Lumenaut
appears in the list of Add-ins and that there
is a tick in the box next to it. If not please
place a tick in the box. Click on OK
Now try running Lumenaut again.
I have a problem with
a one or more functions of Lumenaut.
We
are continually updating Lumenaut, if you
have a particular issue, we recommend that
the first thing you do is to re-download and
install our current version, then try again.
If this does not solve the problem
then check that your version of Excel has
all patches and updates installed. You can
do this by visiting Microsoft's Office Update
site at :
http://office.microsoft.com/OfficeUpdate/default.aspx
Just follow their instructions,
once you have made any of the required updates,
